A hub of linked walkways run between the eight suites – each with its own wooden deck, rim-flow pool and thatched gazebo – and the Royal and Malewane Suites (both sleeping four). The central library, shop and dining area (South African ingredients in Mediterranean and fusion combinations) stand under the canopy of indigenous trees. The spa has a reputation as one of the best bush retreats on the planet offering a range of African-themed treatments. Facilities include indoor and outdoor therapy areas, a gym, Vichy shower and a 25 metre heated lap pool. Not bad for the wilderness.
