Chitwa Chitwa Private Game Lodge
For viewing wildlife, Chitwa Chitwa is hard to beat, nestled within the folds of the exclusive 63,000-hectare Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve. The luxury lodge stands sentry over one of the reserve’s largest lakes. Leopard, lion, buffalo, elephant and rhinoceros share the rugged bushveld with cheetah, giraffe, hippo, zebra and antelope, all wandering freely between Sabi Sand and the world famous Kruger National Park. Get a taste of its from the hotel’s wooden viewing deck, the two swimming pools and the thatch-roofed bar and lounge area which all melt into the surrounding trees. Or venture further afield on a walking safari with experienced trackers. There are 10 cottages, each with a lake-view terrace, the aesthetic combining authentic African design with classic European elegance. Breakfast and lunch is served next to the pool, under the thatched lapa, and dinner in the boma around a glowing log fire.
